Beauty Blender Solid Soap Bar DUPED!

Good morning ladies!

How was your Valentine’s Day/President’s Day weekend? We just hung around the house and cleaned. We cleaned everything. I love spring cleaning, and so does my boyfriend, so we went room to room, top to bottom, cleaning every surface. It took a while for it all to come together, but a clean house is so nice!

What took the longest to clean you ask? My Beauty Blender. WHY WON’T YOU JUST COME CLEAN?? I’ve always just given up and decided it was “good enough” and left the bathroom frustrated. I used up my Beauty Blender Solid Soap ages ago, and just can’t get myself to go repurchase it at $15.95. Like, seriously do you know how many lipsticks I could buy with that money? haha

I reserve “emergency trips to Target” for, um, that time of the month, so my boyfriend was understandable confused when I said we had to go to Target, and it was an emergency. On the way there I explained what was happening upstairs with that damn magic sponge. He told me to just throw it away and give up, but I love my Beauty Blender! I wasn’t about to give up on it now.

I wound up buying 3 bars of soap: Dove Unscented Beauty Bar, Ivory Simply Ivory, and Dr. Bronner’s Castille Bar Soap in Almond.

And let me tell you, we have a WINNER!

Beauty Blender Solid Bar Soap DUPE Dr Bronners Bar Soaps!

My torture is finally at an end. Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap for the win! For $4.49 you can pick up a 5 oz bar that will last you months. And they are Fair Trade, so you can feel good about that, too!

Another awesome tip: After I washed my Beauty Blender, I tried it on my brushes too. And it works like charm! It seriously works better than anything I’ve tried so far, and I’ve tried a lot of brush cleansers.

Plus, you get to pick from a bunch of amazing scents! Target only had a few, but I know Whole Foods Body or a bunch of health food stores carry the whole line.

Here’s the list:

Almond (green package)
Unscented Baby-Mild (baby blue package)
Citrus Orange (yellow package)
Eucalyptus (brown package)
Lavender (purple package)
Peppermint (dark blue package)
Rose (pink package)
Tea Tree (orange package)

Love you all! Let me know if you try it!

They smell amazing, right?! Their liquid soap is something a few people have told me to clean my brushes with and after my experience with the bar soap, I think next time I’m at the store I’ll pick up the liquid Rose scent!

      • I haven’t tried the rose scent, but I’ll check it out next time I’m at the store too! 😀

Yay! Let me know when/if you do, or if you find any other smell/flavor that smells amazing!

  • I jumped on the castille soap bandwagan after trying a liquid tea tree oil one made by Trader Joe’s. My face has never felt more clean and soft! Now i’m using this lavendar oil one sold at Walgreens for my body and as my shampoo! It’s so amazing! I’m definitely gonna get the bar soap next for my beauty blender! Thanks for the tip!

    • I’ve been a bit of a ‘hippy’ with what products I use since I was really young. Dr. Bronner’s was a staple in my parent’s house, and I don’t know why it’s not one in mine! I think I will have to add the liquid to my next amazon order! What is your favorite flavor/scent?

I hate cleaning those things and usually am only able to clean 3-4 times until it’s looking like it needs to be tossed! Can’t help but wonder about all the bacteria that’s on there and it really needs a little holder. ANY IDEAS? I get my “beauty blender dupes” @ TJMaxx or Maeshalls and they’re always in stock w/a few different brands/shapes & colors to choose from. $2.99-$5.

I’ve been using this soap to clean my beautyblender for about 2 months now, and I’ve noticed that after washing, the sponge dries to a smaller size than it originally was. This doesn’t necessarily bother me because once dampened it works just fine. But lately I’ve noticed that the sponge looks as if tiny bugs have taken bites out of the surface… It’s become rough and bumpy. I don’t know if this is because of the soap or just normal wear and tear from daily use. Anyone else having this issue?

    • How long have you had the beautyblender? They start to deteriorate after a while no matter what soap you use. They recommend you replace it every 3-4 months, or more often if you use it everyday. (NOT going to happen tho! $$$$$$$$) I try to get 2 a year. I need a new one right now, I grabbed it too hard and it has a huge gouge in it now!
