Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder Dupes for those of you who want a flawless finish for a fraction of the price!
The Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder comes in at a whopping $50! The NYX one will only set you back $9 and if your budget is tight you can go with the elf one for $3!
I think the NYX Radiant Finishing Powder is a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder in Porcelain Pearl! They both are just a little tiny bit shimmery to give you a really awake, glowing complexion. If you want to see a great video comparing the two, watch this video from CoffeeBreakWithDani!
Now, of course, the packaging of the Bobbi Brown is way sturdier and so pretty! But if you just want the results? Go for the NYX.
If your budget is really tight, or if you just want a really simple tone correcting setting powder, you can go for the $3 elf powder! This is one of my very favorite setting powders by the way! I have gone through, completely 100% two of these bad boys! If you have a super pale complexion like me this powder is a godsend because it is also so light! (A warning for you darker toned beauties- it may be too pale/white cast! I’d look up some swatches to see if it will be too light for you- see below for a warmer dupe!)
Now, the elf one does not have any shimmer in it like the Bobbi Brown one, so that could be a good or a bad thing depending on your tastes.
Moving on to a bit more warm toned finishing powder- the Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder also comes in a shade called Brightening Nudes.
NYX has a similar warm toned finishing powder called Sunkissed which I think (once swirled) is pretty close. So again, if you want to save $40ish, try the NYX first.
And again, elf has a warmer toned finishing powder too! This one also has a kiss of shimmer, unlike the tone correcting one.
Hi lovelies! Here’s a quick look at elf’s new $2 Essential Instant Lift Brow Pencil!
The elf website says “This slim mechanical pencil shapes, defines, and fills in brows for a natural, polished look. The dual-sided design applies color with the fine tip liner on one side and tames and combs brows with the other to create natural and defined-looking eyebrows.”
We will see! I’ve been using it daily and I am still just ‘meh’ about it. I wish it had some sort of a sharpener, because now it’s more like an eyebrow crayon. I do love the spoolie and how it can feather out the product in your eyebrow.
The new elf Studio Intense Ink Eyeliner is a great little felt tip pen! It’s tip wasn’t as fine as I’d like it to be, and it wasn’t as black as I’d hoped for.
The elf site says:
This quick-dry formula instantly enhances the lash line with rich and long-lasting color. The felt tip pen allows you to create a sleek or bold line with complete precision. It glides on smoothly without smudging, feathering, or running!
While I agree that it dries quickly and definitely does not smudge, I don’t agree with the precision. (Which is what I look for most in an eyeliner)
You can see from the swatches here that you can really play around with the thickness of the line. What you can’t see is that when you are pressing just the tip, the tip bends and deposits product further down the tip. (I show you in the video.)
You get very pigmented swatches, but I don’t feel like it came across as black on my eyes. Not as black as say a gel eyeliner.
Everyone raves about the Ben Nye Banana Powder, but I don’t think you need to lay down that kind of money for a yellow powder.
I already am a HUGE fan of elf’s HD powder so was looking at what other options it comes in. (In case you’re curious, they have Sheer, Shimmer, Corrective Yellow, and SPF 45) When I saw the yellow I jumped for joy!
$6 is not bad for 8 grams of product, but if you want to wait for a sale you can reduce that to $3! I’ve seen elf have sales between 20-50% off, so keep your eye out and grab this Ben Nye Banana Powder Dupe next time you order!

Also, if you’re not fond of the HD powders from elf- they also have a yellow mineral one!

Hi everyone! I’m so sorry for the lack of new content- it’s been a really hectic and super stressful since Zora broke her leg.
I also have a announcement I’ve been DYING to tell you all about for MONTHS! I’ve alluded to it a few times, so here it is: We’re moving to Merced in the beginning of October! (Central California) The Bay Area is SO expensive and hard to live in unless you’re making lots of dough! So not only have I been taking care of Zora, but slowly packing up the house too. We’re moving on the 4th, and Andrew’s last day is the 26th so we’ll have a week to really get everything packed up. I packed up my beauty desk and background already, so if I film a video in the next week or so it will probably be on my couch haha.
Anyways, I’ve been drying to you all and figured a simple swatch on lips of all my fall colored lipsticks would be fun! These are just the ones I already own and have been wearing lately; do you want me to do a follow up post on the best fall colors from the drugstore as a whole? Let me know!
Wet N Wild Black Orchid- $.99
I have a love/hate relationship with WnW’s $.99 lipsticks. They are NOT long wearing at all, and if you’re not careful they will feather. But, they are creamy and shiny and super pigmented. I’ve been wearing this one A LOT lately and think it’s the perfect dark berry for fall.
Wet N Wild Dark Wine- $.99
Another $.99 one that I couldn’t live without is Dark Wine. Nice and deep like Black Cherry, but I’d say a little more red.
Wet N Wild Spiked with Rum – $1.99
This one is honestly been my everyday fall lip. I am OBSESSED. Rusty red. Or something like that.
Wet N Wild Ravin’ Raisin – $1.99
Way more purple than it showed up on camera here for some reason, but not too purple. If you look at the swatch on my arm at the top you can see what I mean.
Wet N Wild Sugar Plum Fairy – $1.99
Oneof my absolute FAVORITE drugstore lipsticks of all time, but especially for fall, is Sugar Plum Fairy. It’s an extremely good dupe for MAC’s Rebel. A purple berry with just a hint of fuchsia.
Wet N Wild Vamp It Up – $1.99
Ok, so we can all see that this is not my color. But I still love wearing it sometimes! Vamp It Up is a great dupe for MAC’s Cyber, and it’s such a fun deep purple-y black to rock every now and again. I like to mix this with other shades to vamp them up.
Wet N Wild Don’t Blink Pink – $1.99
I know a lot of you will probably say this is more of a summer color, but it all depends on your outfit! If you’re wearing all charcoal greys/blacks then I like to liven up the look with a bright pink lip. The thing I love about Don’t Blink Pink is that it is very bright, but it’s not a ‘baby doll’ pink at all, it’s quite a dark bright pink.
Wet N Wild Smokin Hot Pink – $1.99
Speaking of dark, bright pinks- Smokin’ Hot Pink is one of my favorites year round. It’s actually a My Lips But Better color for me because my lips are so pigmented. (And hey, for the record, I’m not complaining about that!)
Wet N Wild Cherry Picking – $1.99
How to describe Cherry Picking? It’s a very pink toned red that I can’t imagine living without.
Wet N Wild Stoplight Red – $1.99
OK, look to the end of the post for the same color but a different formula. I didn’t even realize the other of my favorite lipsticks was actually the same color as this until I was swatching them for this post…
BUT! This is literially my favorite shade of red to date. While it is still a very bright classic red, it’s also just a tad darker and not orange toned at all.
Elf Matte Rich Red – $3.00
This is the aforementioned same color… which I’ve been wearing daily since buying in June without realizing is the same color at Stoplight Red. (Which is also VERY similar to Elf Essential in Fearless, but I wouldn’t recommend wearing Fearless for more than an hour or two because it doesn’t wear very long at all.)
I love this for all the same reasons as the above reasons lol.
Kate Moss for Rimmel #103 – $5.99
This is another color that I wear in Spring, but I leave it alone all Summer so that by the time Fall comes around I’m excited to wear it again. Kind of a pinky mauve color.
A pretty close dupe for MAC Twig, btw.
Elf Mineral Rich Raspberry – $3.00
This shade I am guilty of not giving up after wearing it all summer long, because it is the perfect my lips but better color for me! I don’t think I will ever give it up. Also, it’s an amazing color on everyone I’ve ever seen wear it and just looks like a very easy to wear, daily fall color that you can wear with 90-95% of your outfits.
Dupe for MAC Craving
Elf Essential Posh – $1.00
This one is simply gorgeous! I love how deep of a color Posh is without being heavy on your lips.
Elf Essential Fearless $1.00
Again, it seems I am so attracted to this color that I have 3 of the exact same shade in my collection without even realizing it.
Elf Essential Voodoo – $1.00
I don’t even know how to describe this color. It’s a little more brown than others, but not really brown at all. Idk. I love it tho!
Extra dupes/swatches!! (L-R) Elf Essential Fearless, Elf Matte Rich Red, and Wet N Wild Stoplight Red are all the EXACT same shade!
Have I told you lately that I love you? Cause I love you ALL!
You know what else I love? Makeup. Even better? Inexpensive makeup! I bought some new stuff off eyeslipsface.com (not affiliate) to try out, and most of it is not so amazing. Some of it I haven’t made up my mind yet, and some is amazing!

10 Primer Dupes for all you ladies! Do you like to wear primer? I usually wear it only when I’m going to have a long day, instead of just 4-6 hours. I’m one of those girls who likes to take their makeup off as soon as I get home and I know I don’t have to go back out. It’s good for your skin to breathe!
I have an uneven skintone and some issues with large pores around my nose, so I usually use a color correcting primer or a clear one that will fill in my pores. My current favorite is the Smashbox Photo Finish, but I’ve been meaning to pick up the Monistat Chaffing Gel since I’ve heard SO much about it and am damn curious to see if it works. It is supposed to be a gel with a powder finish, and that sounds about perfect for my skin. I like to use my elf Studio Tone Correction Powder over my foundation to make sure there is no more redness peaking through.
