Wet N Wild just launched a newly reformulated and newly packages version of most of their 99 cent products! They are supposed to launch in FEBRUARY, but I found them at my local Walgreen’s already! (So you might not be able to find them yet!) It’s a weird floor stand in the middle of the beauty department, but I’ve also seen photos on Instagram of it being a small display with just the eyeliners and nail polishes.
The new formulation of the lipstick is AMAZING! It’s probably the best reformulation I’ve seen from Wet n Wild, ever. They go on much smoother and with much more color payoff, and so far have worn pretty well. I can’t compare them to the matte ones, because those are so different they are in a whole different world. But I can say that they stay much longer than the old formula, and might have just overtaken the elf Mineral Lipsticks as my favorite drugstore creamsheen.
I’ve done my nails a few times with the new formula for the nail polish, and I’ve got to say I’m not as impressed. They are now SUPER thick. I am going to go back and pick up a few more to see if it’s just the bottle I have or not, but it’s hard to apply and takes forever to dry because of how thick and goopy it is. They color payoff is amazing, and I honestly probably could have gotten away with just one coat. (Which would dramatically decrease the amount of time I have to sit here watching House on Netflix waiting for my nails to dry.) The shade I have is 487E Grape Minds Think Alike and it’s a really pretty berry-purple. The matte top coat isn’t the MOST amazing matte out there, but it certainly beats all the ones I’ve tried from the drugstore so far!
Have you picked anything up from Wet N Wild New 2015’s line? How do you like the lipsticks now?
Hi everyone! I’m so sorry for the lack of new content- it’s been a really hectic and super stressful since Zora broke her leg.
I also have a announcement I’ve been DYING to tell you all about for MONTHS! I’ve alluded to it a few times, so here it is: We’re moving to Merced in the beginning of October! (Central California) The Bay Area is SO expensive and hard to live in unless you’re making lots of dough! So not only have I been taking care of Zora, but slowly packing up the house too. We’re moving on the 4th, and Andrew’s last day is the 26th so we’ll have a week to really get everything packed up. I packed up my beauty desk and background already, so if I film a video in the next week or so it will probably be on my couch haha.
Anyways, I’ve been drying to you all and figured a simple swatch on lips of all my fall colored lipsticks would be fun! These are just the ones I already own and have been wearing lately; do you want me to do a follow up post on the best fall colors from the drugstore as a whole? Let me know!
Wet N Wild Black Orchid- $.99
I have a love/hate relationship with WnW’s $.99 lipsticks. They are NOT long wearing at all, and if you’re not careful they will feather. But, they are creamy and shiny and super pigmented. I’ve been wearing this one A LOT lately and think it’s the perfect dark berry for fall.
Wet N Wild Dark Wine- $.99
Another $.99 one that I couldn’t live without is Dark Wine. Nice and deep like Black Cherry, but I’d say a little more red.
Wet N Wild Spiked with Rum – $1.99
This one is honestly been my everyday fall lip. I am OBSESSED. Rusty red. Or something like that.
Wet N Wild Ravin’ Raisin – $1.99
Way more purple than it showed up on camera here for some reason, but not too purple. If you look at the swatch on my arm at the top you can see what I mean.
Wet N Wild Sugar Plum Fairy – $1.99
Oneof my absolute FAVORITE drugstore lipsticks of all time, but especially for fall, is Sugar Plum Fairy. It’s an extremely good dupe for MAC’s Rebel. A purple berry with just a hint of fuchsia.
Wet N Wild Vamp It Up – $1.99
Ok, so we can all see that this is not my color. But I still love wearing it sometimes! Vamp It Up is a great dupe for MAC’s Cyber, and it’s such a fun deep purple-y black to rock every now and again. I like to mix this with other shades to vamp them up.
Wet N Wild Don’t Blink Pink – $1.99
I know a lot of you will probably say this is more of a summer color, but it all depends on your outfit! If you’re wearing all charcoal greys/blacks then I like to liven up the look with a bright pink lip. The thing I love about Don’t Blink Pink is that it is very bright, but it’s not a ‘baby doll’ pink at all, it’s quite a dark bright pink.
Wet N Wild Smokin Hot Pink – $1.99
Speaking of dark, bright pinks- Smokin’ Hot Pink is one of my favorites year round. It’s actually a My Lips But Better color for me because my lips are so pigmented. (And hey, for the record, I’m not complaining about that!)
Wet N Wild Cherry Picking – $1.99
How to describe Cherry Picking? It’s a very pink toned red that I can’t imagine living without.
Wet N Wild Stoplight Red – $1.99
OK, look to the end of the post for the same color but a different formula. I didn’t even realize the other of my favorite lipsticks was actually the same color as this until I was swatching them for this post…
BUT! This is literially my favorite shade of red to date. While it is still a very bright classic red, it’s also just a tad darker and not orange toned at all.
Elf Matte Rich Red – $3.00
This is the aforementioned same color… which I’ve been wearing daily since buying in June without realizing is the same color at Stoplight Red. (Which is also VERY similar to Elf Essential in Fearless, but I wouldn’t recommend wearing Fearless for more than an hour or two because it doesn’t wear very long at all.)
I love this for all the same reasons as the above reasons lol.
Kate Moss for Rimmel #103 – $5.99
This is another color that I wear in Spring, but I leave it alone all Summer so that by the time Fall comes around I’m excited to wear it again. Kind of a pinky mauve color.
A pretty close dupe for MAC Twig, btw.
Elf Mineral Rich Raspberry – $3.00
This shade I am guilty of not giving up after wearing it all summer long, because it is the perfect my lips but better color for me! I don’t think I will ever give it up. Also, it’s an amazing color on everyone I’ve ever seen wear it and just looks like a very easy to wear, daily fall color that you can wear with 90-95% of your outfits.
Dupe for MAC Craving
Elf Essential Posh – $1.00
This one is simply gorgeous! I love how deep of a color Posh is without being heavy on your lips.
Elf Essential Fearless $1.00
Again, it seems I am so attracted to this color that I have 3 of the exact same shade in my collection without even realizing it.
Elf Essential Voodoo – $1.00
I don’t even know how to describe this color. It’s a little more brown than others, but not really brown at all. Idk. I love it tho!
Extra dupes/swatches!! (L-R) Elf Essential Fearless, Elf Matte Rich Red, and Wet N Wild Stoplight Red are all the EXACT same shade!
I’m a huge fan of drugstore eyeshadows. Not only do they save a ton of money, but a lot of them are so similar it’s near impossible to tell them apart when you see a swatch side by side. I haven’t tried a CoverGirl eyeshadow in so long, but the swatch for Vanilla/French Vanilla was so close I had to include it. I swear by the WnW eyeshadows– just not their new matte line with the bold colors! Those ones are quite chalky. I prefer to use some sort of primer/base for my eyes- it helps the color pop, stops creasing, and prolongs the wear. I’m allergic to the Maybelline Color Tattoos (just found this out a few weeks ago…) and I’m now on the hunt for a new fav base. What’s yours?

Hello ladies! I’m so sorry for not updating you last week!
I’ve been working on some surprise posts for my followers on Twitter! When you message me and ask for a dupe I take it to heart! (@LipstickDupe if you want to ask me anything! Hint- I’m currently working on Body Shop dupes!)
I’ve also been working on my Liebster Award, so that post should be live next!
For today, I wanted to share with you my Top 17 Dupes of the moment that I’m using regularly!
I love these new(ish) Jordana Twist and Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains! I also have the Candied Coral and I wear both of them all the time. My only issue with them is the caps come off pretty easy, so I don’t trust them loose in my handbag.
I love Revlon lipsticks, and this is one that I’ve had for years. Cherries in the Snow was one of the first bright red lipsticks I ever bought.
I love the new Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks just as much as the next girl, but at $22 a pop? Maybe not so much. For me the formula is really soft and winds up rubbing off on everything. (For those of you who are a bit more technical: It transfers. A lot. On everything.) I thought maybe adding a liner underneath would help, and even went as far as adding a little powder eyeshadow over the top and it still moved around during the day.
But hey, these are fast becoming a holy grail for so many that maybe it’s just me. Let me know in the comments!

or NYX Matte Shocking Pink. This one is pretty close. I’m not going to lie to you guys, it isn’t perfect by a long shot. But, like the second Naked 2 dupe below, it’s close enough that if you already own the NYX one you might want to splurge on a different color than something you already (almost) own.
Happy February! I love February. It’s my best friend’s birthday on the 5th, Valentine’s Day is always so much fun, and at the end I have my Annual Sister’s Day!
Erin, if you’re reading this: Happy Birthday! I love you!
I always feel like giving myself a bit of a makeover for Valentine’s Day, whether it is a new body scrub or new lipstick. I always want new lipstick though… But there is nothing more stressful than wanting to look your best, without breaking the bank.
I’ve come up with my favorite High End Beauty Dupes for a Budget Friendly Valentine’s Day Makeover!
If you add it all up, the totals come to: $89.98 vs $480.50!!
Let’s start with a combo product: a mask and a scrub in one! The Freeman’s Feeling Beautiful Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask is one of my all-time favorites.
The Activated Charcoal helps to absorb excess oils, and the Black Sugar acts as a polishing scrub. Apply to whole face & neck, let sit for 10 mins, and then give your face a massage for a few mins. When you rinse this off, your skin will look so clean!
While you’re in the shower scrubbing away to a new layer of skin, slather your hair in this amazing hair mask by L’Oreal! I can’t tell you how much of a HOLY GRAIL this is for me! My hair has been dyed and dyed and blow dried almost every morning. It needs some serious amounts of moisture and repair. I try to use this once a week! It lasts a really long time, and most of the time you can find it on sale for 2 for $5.
We’ve all been there. You just can’t fall asleep. Thinking about your big day tomorrow or just have too much on your mind. Don’t sweat it! Maybelline is here to save the day!
Some other dupes are L’Oreal Magic Lumi, Milani HD Advance, Boots No. 7 Radiant Glow Concealer, and The Body Shop Lightening Touch concealer. I love the Maybelline one the most out of the ones I’ve tried.
My personal life saver in a tube: LA Girl Pro Conceal! Omg, I don’t know what I would without this. Not only does it do an incredible job covering all manner of blemishes, but it comes in 18 shades so you can use it as your contour/highlight! And seriously, for $2.50 you really can’t beat anything else. LA Girl Pro Conceal lasts the whole day, has a brush applicator, and covers everything.
Wanna rock a red lip this Valentine’s Day, but not sure it will last through dinner? Try using a red liner underneath! The liner will give the lipstick something to hold onto. Check out this infographic on how to wear and make red lipstick last!
Make it to the end of the day with some elf Eyelid Primer! I can’t live without this. Not only does it make your eyeshadow last all day without creasing or fading, but it helps to hide any veins on your eyelids and makes the color of your shadow jump out!
My holy grail dupe, the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette and me go way back. I think I bought my first one when they came out, and since them have bought a few replacements for myself and multiple as gifts for my girlfriends. The shadows are so pigmented and rich; they stay all day; and you can blend them out into oblivion.
This is the best dupe for the Kat Von D Ludwig Palette, but it also is considered very close dupes to many MAC shades as well.
If you’re looking for some extra color, or maybe just a black that won’t budge, you’ve come to the right eyeliner! They are waterproof, smudgeproof, and apply similarly to a liquid liner. The white is amazing on your lower water line, and the black is fantastic at tight lining your upper lash line.
Or, if you prefer a gel liner, try the Maybelline Lasting Drama eyeliner. I know a lot of people will say that a good dupe is either the elf or the Wet n Wild one, but I have found that those two dry out so fast that is worth it to me to buy the Maybelline one and have it last longer.
Listen closely ladies! This is my secret weapon when I go on dates! Unlike a lot of mascaras I’ve tried, this one isn’t goopey and stringy. It doesn’t clump, and you can build on it like a dream. I seriously do not know what I would do with out this!
First things first, a HUGE thank you to everyone who is reading this! I started Lipstick Dupe this summer and never in my wildest dreams imagined that by New Year’s I would have over 500 people visit my blog every day!You are all amazing and I can’t wait to see what 2014 will bring! Now for the Radiant Orchid Lips I know you’re here for!

“An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society. An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®
Sounds good to me! Joy, love, health, and creativity? I hope you’re as excited as I am! But wait until you hear what it means for beauty:
“A modern and surprisingly versatile shade, Radiant Orchid enlivens the skin, making all who wear it feel more healthy and energetic. Blending both cool and warm undertones, purple is an appealing hue for distinctive combinations and flattering to many hair, eye and skin tones.
This multifaceted hue is seductive when combined with red and pairs well with its sister shades of lavender, purple and pink, which provides an assortment of lipstick and blush options. Radiant Orchid’s exuberance also acts as a brilliant finishing touch to nails.”
Luckily for us, this year Pantone chose to go with a color that is much easier for you and I to pull off comfortably. Last year was Emerald, and 2011 was Tangerine Tango. Both were bold, bright, in-your-face colors and limited the choices for lipstick shades unless we’re brave enough to rock LimeCrime’s incredible Opaque Lipstick line. (Ok, Tangerine Tango is a pretty rockin’ lipstick color. But Emerald?)
Radiant Orchid is surprisingly easy to pull off, and there are already so many brands that offer the color in their permanent lines. Here’s a sampling of the shades that are about to be must-haves!
