How to Organize Your Purse

How-To-Organize-Your-Purse

In my last video, I showed you what was in my purse when it was a big ‘ol mess. In this video, I’ll show you how I can manage to keep my purse organized- mini purses inside my big purse! It’s the only system that I’ve ever been able to keep up with, and I can change up what is in the little bags easily and quickly.

I’ve tried all sorts of strange organizational hacks to organize my purse: small purses, big purses, zip-loc bags, no purse, only a wallet, limiting the number of things in my purse to 7 (this one is impossible if you carry multiple lipsticks!), little purse inserts… You name it, I’ve tried it.

It started with the addition of one of my first ipsy bags, and then another and then I took a trip to Target and bought a bunch. I still have yet to find the perfect assortment of little purses, but I think I am getting there. Once you start organizing your purse like this, you’ll see why it is so easy to maintain.

Makeup goes in the makeup bag.

Aspirin goes back into the first aid bag.

Pens, gum, and keys are about the only thing left loose in your purse!

So without further ado- How To Organize Your Purse!

I looked up some cute little purses from Amazon in case you want to start using this method! (Affiliate, disable adblocker to see) Or you can go to Target. Or the Dollar Tree. Or Marshall’s. Or Micheal’s. You know, wherever floats your boat!

Also, in case you missed what was in my purse before I started organizing it- What’s In My Purse?

What’s In My Purse?

whats in my purse via lipstickdupe

If you’re like me, then the one question plagues you while you are out and about is what is in her purse? Large purses, small purses, tiny cell phone wallets… Even fanny packs interest me.

I used to go through my sisters purse all the time because she kept such interesting things in there. Both because she is 4 years older than me and so is always a few steps ahead of me in life, but mainly because she keeps some weird ass shit in there.

For example, I have found, on one occasion or another:

  • Taser
  • 5 lighters just in case someone steals 4 of them
  • An assortment of pens (like, all sorts, including one that shocked you)
  • Sea shells, crab claw, and/or sea anemones
  • A ceramic worm
  • Easter eggs
  • Spare keys to her old house
  • Temporary Tattoos of dragons, mermaids, etc
  • Jewelry she bought and then forgot about in there
  • Enough spare change in the bottom to actually use as a weapon in case she can’t get her taser out fast enough and needs to hit someone with it

Do you see what I mean? Purses contain the most random things. You just have to look.

As far as things that my sister has taught me to keep in my purse that aren’t weird and are in fact genius:

  • Hand Cream
  • Notebooks
  • Sharpie
  • Extra hair ties, nail files, and nail clippers.
  • Tiny umbrella during winter
  • Swiss Army Pocket Knife with 32 tools (<—affiliate)
  • Candy/Snacks

This last one is VERY IMPORTANT. You must keep something tasty in your purse at all times. When hunger strikes, you’ll be prepared. Or PMS. Or low blood sugar. Or boredom.

How To Shave Your Legs

Are you just learning how to shave, but not sure where to start? Never fear, I’m here to teach you how to shave your legs and armpits! Here’s almost 15 years of shaving tips in 20 mins!

Let me be your sister for the day and teach you all the tricks I know, okay? I’ll also answer questions like “When should I start shaving? How far up my legs should I shave? Can everyone see my hair growing out? Does shaving make my hair grow back faster?”

Let me know if you have any questions!

Steps:

1) Exfoliate! Let your skin soak while you’re in the shower for 5-10 mins before you start shaving so it has time to soften the hairs.
2) Shave! SLOWLY until you learn your body! Then you can go a little faster. Rinse your razor every swipe!
3) Moisturize! Lotion up!

Products I recommend:
A good razor! (Like a Gilette Venus, Bic Soleil, or Dollar Shave Club. Buy the Venus at Costco for the best price! 1 pack will last about 6-12 months!)
Shave Gel! (I like the Aveeno for Sensitive Skin)
St. Ives Apricot Scrub (generic versions are great!)
A natural loofa!
Lotion!

How To Dye Your Hair At Home

Summer is almost here and I am so ready for it! I love dying my hair, but have been on a super long hair detox so my hair would recover from too many dyes. I lasted for almost 3 years without dying my hair, and I am so ready for a change.  Not only have I been on a no dye detox, but I’ve also been trying to use better products for styling, and use much less heat than I used to.

L'Oreal Paris Feria Hair Color - Intense Medium Auburn (R57)Anyways, I’m getting off topic.. I’m dying my hair red again! But this time, I’m going super red! Or at least it looks super red in the box. I used the L’Oreal Paris Feria Hair Color in Intense Medium Auburn (R57) this time, and to be honest I’m not sure that I like it.

The front of the box reads  “Power Reds High Intensity Shimmering Color.” And by Shimmering, they mean glitter. I have glitter on my scalp. I have glitter all over my body. I have a shimmering pillow case and towel. But my hair isn’t any more shiny than before. And it did not come out as red as I thought it would, it’s more of a purpley red than a true red. (Which isn’t a problem for me because I love that color, but what if I expected a true red out of this?)

Muah! Love you ladies! Are you thinking of dying your hair soon? Send me pics! @LipstickDupe on twitter, or here, or on youtube!
