Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder Dupes for those of you who want a flawless finish for a fraction of the price!
The Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder comes in at a whopping $50! The NYX one will only set you back $9 and if your budget is tight you can go with the elf one for $3!
I think the NYX Radiant Finishing Powder is a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder in Porcelain Pearl! They both are just a little tiny bit shimmery to give you a really awake, glowing complexion. If you want to see a great video comparing the two, watch this video from CoffeeBreakWithDani!
Now, of course, the packaging of the Bobbi Brown is way sturdier and so pretty! But if you just want the results? Go for the NYX.
If your budget is really tight, or if you just want a really simple tone correcting setting powder, you can go for the $3 elf powder! This is one of my very favorite setting powders by the way! I have gone through, completely 100% two of these bad boys! If you have a super pale complexion like me this powder is a godsend because it is also so light! (A warning for you darker toned beauties- it may be too pale/white cast! I’d look up some swatches to see if it will be too light for you- see below for a warmer dupe!)
Now, the elf one does not have any shimmer in it like the Bobbi Brown one, so that could be a good or a bad thing depending on your tastes.
Moving on to a bit more warm toned finishing powder- the Bobbi Brown Brightening Finishing Powder also comes in a shade called Brightening Nudes.
NYX has a similar warm toned finishing powder called Sunkissed which I think (once swirled) is pretty close. So again, if you want to save $40ish, try the NYX first.
And again, elf has a warmer toned finishing powder too! This one also has a kiss of shimmer, unlike the tone correcting one.

“An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society. An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®
Sounds good to me! Joy, love, health, and creativity? I hope you’re as excited as I am! But wait until you hear what it means for beauty:
“A modern and surprisingly versatile shade, Radiant Orchid enlivens the skin, making all who wear it feel more healthy and energetic. Blending both cool and warm undertones, purple is an appealing hue for distinctive combinations and flattering to many hair, eye and skin tones.
This multifaceted hue is seductive when combined with red and pairs well with its sister shades of lavender, purple and pink, which provides an assortment of lipstick and blush options. Radiant Orchid’s exuberance also acts as a brilliant finishing touch to nails.”
Luckily for us, this year Pantone chose to go with a color that is much easier for you and I to pull off comfortably. Last year was Emerald, and 2011 was Tangerine Tango. Both were bold, bright, in-your-face colors and limited the choices for lipstick shades unless we’re brave enough to rock LimeCrime’s incredible Opaque Lipstick line. (Ok, Tangerine Tango is a pretty rockin’ lipstick color. But Emerald?)
Radiant Orchid is surprisingly easy to pull off, and there are already so many brands that offer the color in their permanent lines. Here’s a sampling of the shades that are about to be must-haves!

I know how much we all love elf dupes, but I’ve really been loving my NYX lip products this week! Here are my favorite NYX Lip Dupes from the line! I love NYX Lip dupes because I love NYX lip products- they’re inexpensive and are comfortable on the lips. They aren’t the longest wearing lipstick, but if you’re willing to touch up during the day they are fantastic.
